I grew up on a lake in the woods near the small town of New London, on the edge of the prairie in western Minnesota. My father is a former police officer and private investigator and my mother is a school paraprofessional. Both of them taught me and my two brothers the value of an education, service, honesty, and hard work. I hold those values close to my heart.

After graduating high school, I attended college at North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. I graduated in 2012 with a Masters in Architecture, a Bachelors Degree in Environmental Design, and a Minor in Landscape Architecture and Natural Resource Management.

During college and after graduation, I worked with the National Park Service, the Forest Service, and the City of Boulder, Colorado. I worked on and led crews in trail construction and natural resource management throughout the Front Range of Colorado. While working in Rocky Mountain National Park, I met my future wife, Anna. I fell in love with her and this part of the country.

After college, when we were looking for a home together on the Front Range, we found that Berthoud had the perfect combination of amenities for us to start a family. With easy access to recreation and jobs, excellent schools, beautiful homes, and some of the friendliest people I've ever had a chance to meet, Berthoud had everything we wanted.

We purchased a house on the north end of Berthoud in 2013 and have been working to build a home for our family ever since. While we could live in many other places, we still believe that Berthoud is the best place to raise our family.

In 2014, I was hired as an architectural intern by alm2s, an award-winning architectural firm out of Fort Collins, Colorado. In over five years working there, I gained extensive experience in historical renovations, institutional projects, laboratories, and residential developments. I was involved in a wide variety of projects in northern Colorado and Montana.

I have always believed in public and professional service to my community. Beginning with my work as an Eagle Scout in high school, serving as the President of my professional fraternity in college, volunteering with Habitat 4 Humanity, and serving on the Town of Berthoud Planning Commission from 2018 to 2022, community engagement on a personal and professional level has always been a passion of mine.
In 2019, I stepped away from my architectural career to spend my time raising our three, wonderful children, to support my wife's career as a vice president in the sugar beet industry, and to spend more time on the betterment of our community.

In April of 2022, I was elected to the Berthoud Board of Trustees and in April of 2024, I was unanimously chosen by the board to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem. I am passionate for responsive, efficient government that respects our freedoms, promotes transparency and fairness, and defends of our small town way of life.

My family enjoys spending a lot of time together outdoors, hiking, biking, visiting parks, clearing trees on our lake lot in Minnesota, and seeing our extended family and friends. More than likely you've seen our family out walking the neighborhoods of Berthoud, visiting its parks, or hanging out at the Recreation Center.

I personally enjoy home renovation, woodwork, gardening, modeling, painting, reading, and travel in my spare time. I also fish, mountain bike, hike, and rock climb.
