TRANSIT AND ACCESSIBILITY

Our town has significant accessibility issues that remain. Transit options, bike lanes, sidewalks, street improvements, signage, and informational resources are lacking in many areas and could use attention. I believe our town can improve on traffic modeling and should work to improve traffic flow and capacity, safely. We have made substantial street improvements over the past few years and that needs to continue.

To make our town more inclusive for all of our residents, we need to offer more transit options to our residents and incorporate more universally designed elements in our streetscapes and public spaces. I believe we should also provide informational resources to assist citizens in wayfinding, locating services and businesses, and communicating with our town government.

​​​​​​2022-2026 Notable Accomplishments:

• Approved the initial bike lane striping project for Berthoud.

• Approved FLEX bus contract.

• Approved funding for our BATS bus program.

• Worked with Representative Caraveo's office on federal funding for local micro transit.

• Pushed for sidewalk gap construction on Welch Ave., Bunyan Ave., and elsewhere.

• Pushed for and approved a 5 Year Sidewalk Repair Plan.

• Supported the 5 Year Road Repair Plan.

• Approved an agreement for the construction of a roundabout at County Line Rd. and Mountain Avenue.

• Supported Mayor Karspeck in efforts to gain a passenger rail station in Berthoud by testifying before the Colorado House and Senate, the Front Range Passenger Rail Board, and multiple media outlets including CBS Denver and KUNC. If no service is to be provided, I will seek our removal from the future tax district.
